Peeking through the bushes, you see a white house standing. Being still a distance away, your eyes fail to tell you more about this isolated structure.
As you push opened the back door into the kitchen, you find the interior do not disappoint. A lovely vase of flowers adorns the window at the sink, which looks out into where you just came in from.
In the breezy dining room, you take a deep breath. It smells of nature. You love that this room opens to the vast green outside. You can imagine enjoying a meal at the table and then with a glass in hand, you step outside for a drink under the stars.
This house has a rustic charm that appeals so much to you. That fireplace and little basket of firewood by the side have you so smitten. Yet you can’t deny a sense of quiet elegance permeates this place too.
After falling in love with the house, you step back outside and notice a little wooden gate. Slightly ajar, it was so inviting. And you ponder what other greatness lies beyond.

Hello there! I hope you had a nice little adventure reading today’s post. I had so much joy just penning it and really felt as though I was transported away from my desk, into another world. And perhaps, back in time as well! This gorgeous Swedish summer stuga lies in the small village of Vettershaga, 100 kilometers north of Stockholm. This perfect idyll is home to only 7 families. Styling by Katrine Martensen-Larsen and photography by Stuart McIntyre.
Since I shifted apartments in the beginning of this year, I have been fussing a bit over organising and storage. It’s still on-going by the way. I needed to find a way to make the little bit of space I have look uncluttered and at the same time have things easily accessible when I need them (possible scenario: need to quickly grab things and dash out of the house to catch the bus). Recently, I bought this bag holder. It hangs in the wardrobe and has slots to hold up to 14 bags. Best of all, it keeps things pretty flat. The holder isn’t super cheap but I’m loving it so far!
Flipping through the Japanese interior magazine I bought not long ago, I see some organising and storage ideas which I like.
For your crafty tools. I like to have them easily reachable.
Kitchen utensils. Hanging them means they dry easily too.
Having this near the entrance means less turning the house upside down looking for keys.
These organising ideas don’t entail heavy price tags and they look pretty good too!
Living in space constrained Singapore and not forgetting the never cooling property prices, do you wonder how you would do up your humble abode when you are finally able to commit your life to paying installments for it? Or do you have a mental image of your dream home already ingrained? Since many of us slave ourselves so that we can be property owners (never mind that it’s teeny weeny), I believe that lots of thought ought to be put in when you reach the stage of furnishing and decorating it. Seriously, I don’t mind because to me, this is the most fun part!
I thought this house in New Labanon, New York, shows how simple decor and little pieces of furniture can accomplish so much.
Love the colour of the dinning and living room. It even has a nice name-- In Your Eyes. How beautiful is that? To me, this house feels like a breath of fresh air. *Takes deep breath*

Having just returned from Paris and Besancon in January (yes, I used “just” because obviously I still very much hope I am there), I was happy to be invited to the media preview of the VoiLah! French Festival Singapore 2010.
So with the taste of Angelina’s hot chocolate, Pierre Herme’s macarons still lingering in my mouth, I made my way to the French Ambassador’s residence last Friday. Nestled amidst lush greenery, and sitting on slightly elevated ground, the colonial bungalow exuded a charm and touch of grandeur now rare amongst Singapore residences.
Unlike other press conferences, this was done in the format of a talkshow which made it more intimate and personal. On the sofa with host Hossan Leong were the various invited guests.
From French food to French football, classical music to young, angsty rock, art déco to street art, the festival aims to showcase the many facets of France and its culture. Wherever your heart (or stomach) lies, I’m sure VoiLah! 2010 has something to offer.

I love that it's feminine with a lovely colour palette which differs from other conventional chocolate packaging.
