Asymmetrical - Studio Velocity

Beautiful house in a normal residential area in Japan. The inclined roof allowed an an eye-catching exterior. The interior is bright, airy and inviting. I love the fluidity between the indoor and outdoor! Designed by Okazaki-based Studio Velocity.

Surreal Monday

The previous post led me to these photos by Yusuke Suzuki. I love the surreal quality he imbues in his pictures.

Fun in Bed

Really wish I had this bed when I was a kid. Heck, I seriously don’t mind having it now either!

What I LOVE even more is the graphic identity work they did for the same restaurant!

Shop Update - Mr Cloud

How was your weekend, lovelies? Mine went by so quickly I can’t remember what I did! Haha, but it was fruitful. I worked most of Saturday on a piece of illustration assignment. Just when it was time for dinner, it began to pour. But I headed out anyway for a much needed breather. Yesterday, I ran in aid of Japan (I’m so glad I did my little bit to help) and ended the day with a family dinner.

The previous post was the last of the Bangkok series. I hope you liked it. If you’ve missed it, you can still revisit by clicking on “travel” on the sidebar. So, it’s a new week and I thought I’ll let you in on what I’ve been busy with. Well, sewing of course! I’ve been working on a few plushies and here’s one of them:

Mr Cloud

This is Mr Cloud. He’s both hand and machine-stitched. Mr Cloud lives in a distant land but he yearns to be like everyone else. Afterall, he loves Oreos dunked in milk, chocolates and is lazy sometimes, just like you and me! See more of Mr Cloud in my Etsy shop!

[Bangkok] - Miscellaneous

Because so much of colourful Bangkok cannot be neatly categorised, I had to have this post titled “miscellaneous”.
Somehow, we stumbled upon this bookshop cum cafe. It was filled with students from the school next door, eager to fill their ever hungry stomaches with comfort food and also to enjoy the air-conditioning. The furnishing in this place differs greatly from those in my previous Bangkok posts. Here, it’s pretty dated but it’s so reminiscent of 80s american high school sitcoms that I have to say I do like it. For being so unashamedly itself.

Hostel cum cafe which screams south-east asian.

Saw this cute little ceramic while I was seeking shelter from the rain.

So, we’ve come to the end of this series on Bangkok. I hope you’ve had fun. I know I did! Looking forward to introducing you to my new plushie next week. Meantime, have a great weekend!

[Bangkok] - Crepes & Co.

Are you a crepe lover? I am. I love those nutella crepes I had in France. Of course, there’s the unbeatable one filled with ice-cream I had as I thronged the crowd in Harajuku, Japan. Generally crepe = sweet to me.
I sampled a savoury crepe during this recent trip to Bangkok. At a nice place called Crepes & Co. True to its name, they serve crepes with all types of fillings. You’ll be spoilt for choice!

[Bangkok] - Vanilla Cafe

There was a little path leading me inwards. I stepped onto it feeling like I was in a little park but unsure of what to expect ahead. What soon unfolded before me had my heart skipping a beat. Nestled among lush greenery was a cool bookshop specialising in art and design.

Next to it was a cafe that charmed my socks off with its gorgeous interior. With its bookshelf of manga collection and a foosball table on the first level, I almost thought I was in someone’s living space.

Sweet-tooth Sally!

She's a handmade plush doll which I just listed in my little shop. Sally loves to play outdoors but will always be back in time for her afternoon tea. See more of Sally here.

Also, I’m bringing back the popular Moustache George who’s now clothed in polka dots instead.
