[Tokyo Trip] - Harajuku's Energy

As much as I love the charming suburbs, a visit to the famous Harajuku is a must. Best to throng the crowds on the weekend! It’s teeming with energy and great for taking in the sights of Tokyo’s youth culture.

And no visit to Harajuku is complete without trying the crepes! MUST MUST! Lots of flavours and with fanciful displays. How can you make me choose?!

Confession: I slept in that day and had this chocolate ice-cream crepe for breakfast :p! T had banana and cream but loved my chocolate ice-cream just a tad more.

What’s a visit to Japan without having taiyaki?

This has to be the most wonderful taiyaki I ever had! It was made with so much pride, carefully and slowly by these 2 cool fellows. Believe me, you can taste the big difference between this taiyaki and those quickly churned out in local food kiosks.

One of the many good-looking shops in Harajuku (hehe, I was too busy looking around to snap more photos). This one’s actually a hair salon! One of the things I learnt from this trip is that salons in Tokyo are unbelievably gorgeously designed!

[Tokyo Trip] - Shibuya at Night

Hello there, did you have a nice weekend? I hope so. Mine was fun. I got together with some girl friends for a home-cooked dinner on Sunday night. Japanese curry, quesadillas, vege stirfry (haha, pretty international huh?) and some wine. It was simple bliss. Needless to say, I raved at length over dinner about my Tokyo trip. But fret not, you won’t miss out much because I’m sharing the photos with you right here!

Here are some night shots of a quiet stretch somewhere around/near Shibuya. Walking around at night in the cool wind, Tokyo charmed my socks off!

Swoon...

I’ll take you to Harajuku next!

[Tokyo Trip] - Tokyo, Why I Love Thee So?

Hi there, I’m going to be sharing some of my Tokyo photos as promised!

I love Japan for reasons too many to list but here’s a few:

1. The countless drinks vending machine that pop up everywhere. Seriously, I mean EVERYWHERE! They are bright, colourful and lots of options to choose from!

2. Japan is the undisputed land of kawaii-ness!

Yes, it’s a sponge

Cute brochures, postcards everywhere

Signage

Look! My Freshness Burger has horns!

Stores and restaurants are all marking Halloween.

(Needless to say, the burger was yummy!)

3. Everyone owns a transparent brolly!

Have I whet your appetite yet? Of course, even BETTER photos will be coming up! :)

[Tokyo Trip] - Afternoon Tea

If you are a Japanese cakes and dessert lover, Afternoon Tea must be one of those names that keep ringing in your ear. I first learnt of Afternoon Tea when a Japanese friend gave me a some of their products, all packed in a pretty box, last year (yes, I’m a late bloomer). I’ve been wanting to check it out for myself ever since and I finally got to during this trip!

After a very satisfying dinner, T & I were still craving for something sweet to wrap it all up and the Afternoon Tea in Shinjuku was so convenient for us! It certainly lived up to its name! I had a huge slice of the Sweet Potato & Pear Shortcake (1st pic above) while T had the Milk Tea (2nd pic). I thought my cake was simply heavenly and I turned to see T’s jaw dropping after his sip of the tea. He proclaimed it the BEST milk tea he ever had! Rats, I wished I had ordered the Afternoon Tea Set (3rd pic, available till closing) so we’ll get a pretty basket of sweet things on our table! It included the cake I had and a few others. I know I’ll be collapsing onto the bed a few hours later but who cares, right?

Afternoon Tea also sells ridiculously cute and pretty house and kitchenwares! Pity we went so close to closing time so I didn’t have time to look.

I’m organising the photos I took for posting and I hope you’ll enjoy them!

[Guest Post] Dream Kitchen Tour with Fee-AMore

Hello Cookie Cutter's friends! I am Fiona of Fee-AMore. I am happy to be guesting over here while Sandy is out of town. I love to be in the kitchen, and i found a really darling kitchen that i believe i could spend all day in it.

This Gastronomic dream kitchen, painted in brushes of light sky blue is just darling. With the luxury of space, it is divided into 2 workstations - a bakery section and a cooking section, which is perfect. In it, i absolutely love the ample light pouring in particularly through the ceilings, the choices of fixtures like the row of lamps hanging straight above the sink and how they complimented the light sky blue with touches of pastel cream green and, the lovely view greeting outside. The little alcove sitting behind has got to be my favorite. What better way to unwind or draw away and just relax in this darling space.

I hope you enjoy this space like i do! And thanks for having me over, Sandy!

Road Less Traveled

Hi lovelies, by the time you are reading this, I would be on my way to the Land of the Rising Sun! But as I’ve mentioned, I’ve got posts lined up for you while I’m away, including 2 guest posts! The fun over here continues, so do continue to visit :)

I know this trip to Tokyo is going to be packed with all the sounds and sights of this attractive city and I’m so excited by it! Some day though, I’ll like to take a trip that’s the antithesis of this.

I’ll pack for a road trip to the country

Put up in a rustic bed and breakfast

Put on my hiking boots and explore the nature around me

Put on my hat and with my trusty tote bag, check out the farmer’s market nearby

Buy beautiful fresh flowers at prices unheard of in the city

Eat fresh organic farm produce

What do you think of such a travel idea?

Happy weekend!

Leather Goods - Mais

Hi lovelies, happy mid-week! How are you doing? I've been wearing a grin on my face because I'll be heading to Tokyo soon! Woohoo! I've been pinning for Japan for a while (actually as soon as I returned last year), so I'm super excited about this trip! If you're worrying there's going to be a period of silence over here, fret not! I've been working hard preparing posts in advance for you. Additionally, I'm thrilled to be having 2 guest posts over here as well. I've read the posts and I think you will love what these 2 lovely ladies will be sharing with you! So continue to pop by while I'm away, ya?

Meanwhile, I'm currently swooning over these leather items from Mais in Japan.

Especially coveting the sandals! I want them so bad! (If anyone knows where I can find similar ones in Singapore, please tell me!!)
