Like many young girls, I was crazy about the colour pink when I was little. I wanted pink this and pink that. For me, I don’t think it was prescribed socially. The colour just had a natural allure for me. As I grew older though, I detested being associated with the colour. I thought it was so uncool. What’s cool? Black was (and still is). But in the recent years, I've started appreciating pink again. It’s warm, pretty, girly and cozy. What’s not to like? It’s as if I’ve come one full circle. But it’s a different liking now. One that’s more mature with the awareness that pink encompasses a colour and its entire spectrum of shades. I’m sensitive to the associated qualities and the feelings the colour and its shades evoke.
Have a sweeeeeeet weekend!

I love the images you chose! So soft and dreamy :)
ReplyDeleteI was very repulsed by pink, and anything associtaed with it - ballerinas, strawberry ice cream the only exception was the Bazooka chewing gum! It was only recently that I appreciated pink, in acid shades or neon, which some people consider ghastly! :)
These are lovely photos!! The pink typewriter is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!! oxoxo
Sandy, I love this post and I love pale pink too - it's such a gentle and beautiful colour and pink ballet slippers - sheer bliss!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful shades of pink you have collaged together.
ReplyDeleteI was exactly the same, pink was the faved colour until 13 then some how the colour black was the colour of choice... hmmm those teen years :)
have a sweet weekend too. xox.
ReplyDeleteLove that pink typewriter!
ReplyDeleteI grew up with two elder sisters who strangely 'reserved' favourite colours; purple and pink respectively, and my parents somehow perpetuated this colour quirk. As a result, I've never liked those two colours, and hated everything associated with them (my sisters are girly, whereas I was the tomboy), opting for black instead. Now that I'm all grown up, I've realised that there's no harm in liking pink and purple. In fact, my favourite colours now are dusty pink and lavender!
Yay to fellow pink lovers and yay to all those who underwent those crazy teen years too! :) Thank you all for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI always want to have plenty of pink in my home, it makes me happy!
