Hi there, it’s a new week!
I welcomed my first October weekend
with something sweet.
You mean cinnamon ice-cream actually tastes so good?

I haven’t been to the beach for a long time.
At least not near enough.
I put on an old pair of flip flops
And wriggled my toes comfortably in them.

I have a love hate relationship with the sea.
It’s so immense and limitless.
But it’s also mysterious and full of unknowns.
Don’t you wonder what it buries in its unfathomable depths?

I used to think sandcastles were for kids
It was done only for fun and amusement
Then I saw this piece of art in the sand.
And I imagined:
“What do you do?”
“I’m a sandcastle builder.”
That’s pretty cool, isn’t it?
Almost liberating.
I played with the waves
And dared it to touch my toes.
It was coy at first
And tickled gently
Before receding back.
And it gave me a glimpse
of what it was capable of.
What a nice way to spend the weekend, I do agree with your thoughts on the ocean, the first time I ever came near the ocean I was thirteen years old, I was so overwhelmed by how big, seemingly ominous about it, that I got sucked in by the waves and fell, my cousins got a kick out of the city girl who was sporting a bloody lip! And sandcastles are awesome, I envy people who can make really nice masterpieces! :)
