Father's Day 2010

Hi Lovelies, I hope you had a good weekend. I spent most of mine indoors as T is currently obsessing over the World Cup. I made him some quesadillas on Saturday night. Because I don’t have a grill, they turned out looking a little like local prata. Haha!

For today’s post, I’m sharing some of the Father’s Day cards (yes, it’s just round the corner!) I’m seeing online. Letterpressed of course! :)

I Doodle

I keep a little journal with my sketches and I thought I’ll share some of it with you over here. They are basically about my mundane life, my whines and neuroticism. If it's Sweden

If I have the cash, if I live in Sweden... I’ll make a dash to purchase this penthouse! Since the preceding statement rests on two very big “if”s, I’ll just have to make do by swooning over these images of the apartment for now:

Rustic flooring, bright cheerful furnishings, pretty wallpaper by Josef Frank... bathed in generous amount of natural light! Of course, there’s the outdoor area which is absolutely charming. Comes with gorgeous view too!

Sewing Spaces

I think I first picked up a needle and thread when I was in elementary school. My classmates and I were taught some basic stitches as part of our craft class. We were each given a small piece of checkered fabric. The checks served as a form of guide as we sewed the various stitches in rows across the fabric. And along the circumference of the fabric, we learnt to do blanket stitch. We used threads of different colours for each stitch. I remember looking at my completed piece of work with glee because that little piece of cloth was filled with different stitching patterns and bright colours. As I look back with fond memories, that seems to me an easy and smart way to introduce the stitches to kids.

For a long time after leaving school, I didn’t do much sewing at all but I’m glad I found my way back to it in recent years. It’s what I loved and still love.

I was browsing a Japanese magazine and, man, I now know what my dream sewing space would be like (complete with some dream sewing accessories)! ;p
