Event: Cookie Cutter at STGCC 2012

Hi folks, I have an exciting piece of news to share. Cookie Cutter will be at Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2012 this coming weekend!

Unlike markets which I've participated in previously, I will get a proper booth at STGCC, which means a bigger space and more items! My mind is currently occupied with the set up of the booth, how to make it prettier and more inviting for you :)

This is a mega event and it'll be ticketed ($15 for a 1 day pass and $25 for a 2 day pass). I'm thrilled to be a part of it and hope to see you there!

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

You may remember this post some time back when SK-II invited me to experience the transformation their products bring about. I also posted my thoughts after the 7 day challenge. 

Before that first day, I've never tried any SK-II products. I was pretty okay with my skincare routine and products. There were occasional days when I found my skin to be a little rough but I dismiss it because it goes away after a few days. On the whole, I'm a pretty lucky girl without many skin problems. So, it took a little nudge for me to try something new. Looking back, boy am I glad I did! My skin tone is more even, I don't have those days of rough skin any more and I look forward to the end of the day when I dab on the Facial Treatment Essence. I realised that although my skin was okay, it could be even better! Not to sound like a sell-out but I've since convinced my mother to use the Facial Treatment Essence and she introduced it to my sister too!

Other than the routine way of applying the Facial Treatment Essence, I've also tried something a little different. I have the bottle in the refrigerator and totally enjoy the cooling sensation when I dab the essence on my face! It feels like a real treat especially after being in the sweltering heat outdoors. [Tokyo] - Omotesando Koffee

Omotesando Koffee is sort of a pop up coffee shop. It’s a simple, mobile box-liked structure housed in the ground level a Japanese style house. I was head over heals in love with its simple and zen-liked aesthetics.

We ordered our coffees and sipped them over quiet chatter in the little garden. I looked at the momiji (Japanese maple) and wonder how beautiful it must be in autumn.

[Tokyo] - Nomin Cafe

Nomin Cafe in Shimokitazawa is definitely one of my favourites for this trip. We took an outdoor table despite the sweltering summer heat. It turned out ok because we had shelter from the trees and I loved how the sunlight peered through the canopy. We sat at a low Japanese style table, on a wooden platform with cushions and were provided with slippers. It was so nice to soak it all in with a cold beer.

Our food arrived before long and it was one of the best vegetarian meals I’ve ever had. Completely satisfied. I would have lingered a lot longer, if not that there was so much more I wanted to do!

[Tokyo] - Shimokitazawa

Shimokitazawa is one of my favourite suburbs in Tokyo. Lots of cute indie shops and no shortage of cafes to pop into. I always find myself spending almost an entire day there.

Did somebody say you must all paint your shutters? Aren’t they beautiful? Especially fond of the hairdressing one. 

[Tokyo] - la vie a la campagne

I met up with lovely Hiki of UGUiSU blog one morning. It was quite an impromptu meeting but Hiki very kindly found a pocket of time for me. She took me to a charming cafe, la vie a la campagne, in Nakameguro.

After we ordered our food, we both whipped out or cameras and iPhones and snapped away. Haha! We both ordered something simple and they were yummy. I didn’t manage to finish my huge pot of tea though. 

There was only so much that could be exchanged in that short time but I had great time. Let’s do this again next time or when you come to Singapore, Hiki :)

[Tokyo] - Yoyogi Village by Kurkku

Just a short distance away from the station but hidden from the main road is Yoyogi Village, a little eco-park filled with shops and eateries, sitting around a central landscape garden. There is a lower and upper deck and everything is housed inside what resemble shipping containers. 

I visited this lovely space in the late afternoon. After checking out the place, I settled for its quiet izakaya, had a beer or two with small bites and watched as the sky turned dark and beautiful lights came on. 

Silkscreen Tote Bag

Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying the Tokyo series so far? I'm interrupting it for today to share a new item in my shop. It's a silkscreen tote bag!

I printed each one individually by hand on a lightweight cotton tote. And they feature an original Cookie Cutter design. Yes, it's cute and quirky!
