Idyllic Countryside

Living in a city (and a tiny one too), I’ve always looked enviously at those who spend their days in the idyllic countryside. The fresh air, the soft sounds of flora and fauna, the green fields and gorgeous flowers. I’ll love to be in the embrace of Mother Nature! I wonder too though if those who live in the country rather be in the city. Is it a case of the grass is always greener on the other side? Tell me what you think.

The Gloved One

Ever since I saw this image from Pandora (via Soon Lee), I can’t quite shake it-- lacey black gloves out of my mind.

Suddenly I see gloves in a new light! There’s a little touch old world elegance to them, don’t you think? There’s something very refined about these.

[Fashion Friday #13] - Lady Petrova

Hey lovelies, I hope you were looking forward to Fashion Friday. I was! It satisfies my need to swoon over beautiful clothes. When I prowl the cyberworld for lovely fashion related stuff to post here, it’s the next closest thing to actual shopping for me :). Other than keeping my fashion withdrawal symptoms at bay, I find myself being exposed to what’s out there in the rest of the world (other than the retail chain clones we have here). I’m constantly reminded to not just be in clean basic pieces (“It’s classic” was my excuse). Like art, it’s about individuality, it’s about self-expression. Perhaps many years down the road, I may look at old photos of myself and cringe and my choice of clothings. But hey, at least I had fun! And that, lovelies, is what life should be about.

For today's post, I wanted to share with you an Australian label that had me at first glance-- Lady Petrova. Very fun, very girly! Man, I’m quite bought over by the fanciful stockings!

[Fashion Friday #12] - Vogue Nippon

I just realised we’re a little fashion-heavy in this week’s post, isn’t it? But it’s Fashion Friday today so I thought it’s better that I continue with it. Some folks might actually be looking forward to it, ya know :p.

Do you feel like everyone’s in the mood for spring? I do and I have been feeling so for a while. I remember experiencing Spring for the first time in Japan. Witnessing the first blooms peeking out from the snow, it was almost a magical moment! I then understood what it means when people say that spring brings with it not just gorgeous colours but also hope.

Featured in Vogue Nippon, this cover shoot by Blaise Retersward captures so much of the spring mood! The theme: Holiday Lolita. The sun, the hat, the prints. I need to get myself into a resort too!

[Fashion Friday #11] - Quirky & Green

What I’m about to share with you for today’s for Fashion Friday is perfect to welcome the weekend with! Bright and cheerful with a touch of quirkiness is how I’ll describe Lu Flux’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection, The Eco Life of Riley. Check out the patchwork details!

There’s more to these pieces than just being beautiful. They are made from salvaged, vintage and organic fabrics. The designer’s aim is to “make something new out of something old”. I say yay to being green!

I was counting down to this Fashion Friday post because I had spotted fabulousness and couldn’t wait to share it with you! You won’t be disappointed.

Completely smitten by these pieces from Secret Squirrel’s Summer collection. They feel like a breath of fresh air to me. Light and floaty. But most of all, clean and simple, just the way I like it.

Yay! It’s Friday! My favourite day of the week actually because it means I have the entire weekend ahead of me. I hope you have a fruitful weekend as well. [Fashion Friday # 9] - Youthful & Chic, Milly Fall 2010

You sweet people who left comments for me yesterday on my on-going craft projects certainly kept me going. My sewing machine was going cranky on me yesterday. Oh well, it has its moods. I hope we’ll be able to figure out what’s wrong soon. Meantime, I hope you enjoy Fashion Friday today. I’m sharing one of my favourites that was very recently sent down the New York Fashion Week.

Milly Fall 2010

Isn’t it fab? Mini skirts, tights in bright hues, polka dot stockings (!), the look is youthful and girly but still chic. Love the French touch offered by the berets! Who says fall has to all grey and black?

Yay, it’s Friday today. I’m continuing with the feasting this weekend. Dinner with the girl pals tonight and back at my parents’ on Sunday. You see, lunar new year is celebrated for 15 days! Maybe I’ll twit some pictures. Happy weekend, lovelies!
